This design was developed as part of my application for Puma, where I was asked to reinterpret the Suede in celebration of its 150‑year legacy.

After exploring several futuristic directions, I made a deliberate choice to shift the narrative. The Suede has remained essentially unchanged for 75 years — projecting it 75 years into the future felt less meaningful than honoring the story that shaped its cultural impact.

I decided to focus on the heritage of the Suede and its powerful political connection to Tommie Smith. From this foundation, I crafted a visual concept that encapsulates a strong narrative and a message that, to me, represents the true essence of this iconic silhouette.
